If you missed this one, we better see you next month for BATTLE OF THE BANDS at GIRL BAR!!! Click here for video from the victorious night.
  • 2/4/08 Truckin' On Shitting Glitter has been hard at work, opening for Gene Loves Jezebal at the Anarchy Library this past Friday night, rehearsing for their upcoming Battle of the Bands gig at Girl Bar, and continue to record their third album.
  • 1/7/08 Blues Bunny Review "Sidesaddle" has been reviewed by website Bluesbunny.com as their Daily Review for today! Check it out here!!!
  • 1/4/08 Happy New Year! Here it is another year again, and hopefully this is going to be THE year! Recording should be wrapped up on our new album in the next few months and we will be competing in a battle of the bands contest at Girl Bar in West Hollywood in February. Hope to see you all there!
  • 12/3/07 - A very big thanks to Flagstaff for rocking with us at the Monte V. We had a great show! Recording continues on the new album, as Brandon tracked several guitar parts last Thursday, and Devin recorded some synths and bells over the weekend. Meanwhile, the trio has been working on another project - their side band, Believable TV, which will be performing next Saturday in Hollywood at Cafe Muse. (Visit the website to read Believable TV's bio!)
  • 10/24/07 - It may seem quiet, but there is lots of stuff going on behind the scenes. First and foremost, recording continues on the band's third album. However, the wildfires raging here in California are dangerously close to the Seamonster Sounds Studio in Malibu so please keep Mr. Hoagie Hill and his studio in your thoughts and prayers. The band has finished recording two new non-album tracks for some documentary films. "The Man" is a sixties style folk number inspired by the Manson Murders, whereas "Stacked" is a dark electronic opus about corruption within the media and the government. Heavy!
  • 8/13/07 - The band's live drummer, Alexa Brinkschulte, recorded drums for five tracks on the forthcoming album over the weekend at Seamonster Sounds in Malibu. Currently, Shitting Glitter is preparing for it's "Talkin' Shit" Mini-Tour, which will take the band to Bakersfield, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and back to LA this coming weekend.
  • 7/16/07 - The band had a busy, successful weekend performing at Club Lavender Mist in LA on Friday night, then spending the weekend in Santa Barbara where they performed at the Pacific Pride Festival. Make sure to check out the new video for "Mustache Rides 5¢" now on the video page!

  • 6/12/07 - Sidesaddle Sweet Talk officially released! It can now be ordered from Amazon.com, or purchased in at Amoeba Records in Hollywood and Virgin Megastore in West Hollywood. Coming soon to CD Baby and iTunes.
  • 5/16/07 - Sidesaddle Sweet Talk, the new ep, is now available as a digital download from MusicFreedom.com The actual CD will be released on June 8 and sold at the band's appearance at LA Pride.
  • 4/13/07 - New Website Launched! Finally, the website has gotten a new look!
  • 3/12/07 - Delay You may be wondering about a couple things right now. First, what's taking so long for the Slut Buffet remix single? It's true that we had promised this would be released in January 07 and here it is, Mid-March, and still no sign. However, we think it will be very much worth the wait. When we began recording, we started doing it the same way we recorded "Free Alongside Ship." We recorded everything here in LA ourselves, and just gave the tracks over to Hoagie at Seamonster Sounds to mix. However, after we had recorded the tracks and taken them out to Malibu to transfer over to Hoagie, it became apparent that we could get a much, much better quality by recording the tracks directly at Seamonster Sounds. So we essentially completely re-recorded the two b-sides, Mustache Rides Five Cents and Delay - hence the delay. We don't have a record company exec breathing down our necks so it made sense to take the extra time and effort to make these tracks really awesome! As far as remixes, we're not sure what is going to end up going on the single, but we have gotten some really kick-ass mixes from different people and we will be picking our favorites to include. We will also be releasing a video for Mustache Rides (not Slut Buffet as previously announced.) In other news, we want to thank everyone at the San Diego Indie Music Festival, where we had a kick-ass show! Click here for a clip from our encore, "R So" (yes, we actually did an encore).

3/10/03 - Sorry for the lack of updates lately.
Basically the band have just been rehearsing and working on recording. New tracks were laid down last week for "Ariana" and Devin is currently programming more tracks. A new track, "High and Tight" has started to get worked out, as well as a couple others. The band have been "making the scene" as they attended the Mount Sims performance at Synthetic a few weeks ago and have been hanging out regularly at bars in Hollywood and West Hollywood such as Here, The Palms, and Goldfingers. Last but not least we are talking to a few DJ's about getting some new Electroclash remixes done.
2/6/03 - Shitting Glitter is preparing for the gig next week at Westchester with a new, full band.
Amy and Devin have been joined by Brandon on guitar, Eddie on Drums, and newest addition Gayle on Bass. The new band photos on the site were taken Wednesday after rehearsal by Dylan, the band's new photographer.
1/15/03 - The official news is that Shitting Glitter has once again downsized... Amy and Devin continue on, Mag is concentrating on her art. Her current exhibit, "Taking Communion" can be seen all month at the Normandie Room in West Hollywood, at Santa Monica and Hancock. There are many personal issues behind this separation, and the band stresses that nothing is final. We wish Mag the best of luck and will continue working with her, in whatever shape that may take. We will continue to include updates on her goings on here on this website.
Meanwhile, the "Makes Sense" EP is well underway. It will most likely include the songs "Makes Sense," "Mechanically Separated Chicken," and "Ariana," as well as remixes. The rough mix of "Makes Sense" is completed and received a warm reception on Sunday, Jan. 12 when it was previewed at the Gold 9 in Sherman Oaks. The band is hoping to release it as a single and video by mid-February.

6/3/02 - What rolls down the street with 2 go-go dancers on skates, four rock stars and the Transgendered Diva love-child of Daryl Hall and Olivia Newton-John??? THE SHITTING GLITTER FLOAT (Starring Kendra) in the 2002 Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade, of course! You heard it here first, SG has officially obtained a spot on the day of all days, the day of all gays! A spokesperson for Kendra has commented that she is "ecstatic that band chose her as their notable guest of honor" in the celebration. The rest of her statements can not be reprinted here. The band has requested placement "near nuns" in the lineup, but we can only say with certainty that you can see them between 11 and 2:30 on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood on Sunday, June 23rd. (The day after Devin's birthday). Meanwhile, the band prepares for it's next gig at the Joint, 8771 Pico Blvd in LA on June 13th, 11 pm. The set will feature 2 new songs (!) and the shirtless drumming 'orgasm-czech style' that is Roman. Do you have to ask... "Where's the party at?" NO!!! Don't get caught in the trap, get your snatch on down to the joint and check out the "garage band that collided with a bus full of reform school cheerleaders," LA's own Shitting Glitter!5/18/02 - "Strapping" has been remixed by DJ Jonathan Morning! The remix can be heard at Shitting Glitter's MP3 site. It is a club version and will be featured at Pure Insanity tonight, May 18, at Club Orion in downtown Los Angeles. It will be included on the Hot Rod Deluxe Edition CD which is coming out soon.
5/11/02 - Shitting Glitter performed their longest set to date last night at Rumors in North Hollywood. It went a little something like this: Ariana/Post No Bills, Goddess Room, Grady, Strapping, Backdoor Jesus, Hero, Mechanically Separated Chicken, and Luscious Mag. The band was very happy with their show and is ready to 'slam dunk the funk' this Sunday night at The Joint. (PLEASE BE THERE! WE PROMISE IT WILL BE THE BEST THING YOU COULD DO ON A SUNDAY NIGHT!) After the Joint, the band plans to rehearse a lot, and finally finish some new songs they've been working on including "Mustache Rides 5 Cents" and "Makes Sense." In June, the band will be flying in their producer from Kansas City to record the album Post No Bills.
5/6/02 - After the raving success that was the Arcadia gig, Shitting Glitter is ready to gig like bats out of hell. After the gigs lately, the only way is up (literally). At least the chances of us playing at another straight sports bar & grill immediately following a funeral reception are slim to none. The hardest work has been done. In other news, Shitting Glitter has scheduled out it's next three months to increase their productivity --- just one more shining example of our fearlessness of selling out. We've got T-Shirts, remixes, videos, promotional goodies, and even plans to record "Post No Bills" - the highly anticipated and thoroughly thought-out debut album. See, it's all about product, product, product.
4/17/02 - The Strapping Video is finished and can be seen now only on ShittingGlitter.com!!! The work was finished over the busy weekend, which included 2 performances. Those landmark gigs will be chronicled in the upcoming Shitting Glitter Online Diary. Meanwhile, future gigs keep rolling in so get your asses out there!
4/8/02 - There have not been any updates lately but that does not mean nothing is going on here in the Shitting Glitter universe. No siryereebob! As you may notice the website is being redone, and we have some gigs coming up very, very soon! So stick around for joy....
3/6/02 - The band has been featured in Divas Magazine! Divas interviewed Shitting Glitter and the article is in their anniversary issue, out now. Check your local newsstands. Read the full article here.
The band are up in the air as to whether or not they will be participating in the Rainbow Revue project but wish Tiko and his Tribe the best of luck regardless! Meanwhile, we're getting geared up for the Rumors gig: there are lots of exciting things going on right now, and the gig will be a big step forward for the band!
2/25/02 - The band worked on a few songs tonight, including a new one titled "Slut Buffet." It's a rousing 80's synth pop dance number that marks a departure from the band's signature sound. Don't fear, however, we're still punk as fuck.
2/24/02 - Amy, Yvonne and Devin met with Tiko and his Tribe to discuss the Rainbow Revue gig which will be in April. The band is joining Tiko's band for this gig which will be televised on PBS and will take place at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood. Check out the Rainbow Revue web page for more info.
2/21/02 - K8 (a.k.a. Kate Lindsey) will be directing the video for Goddess Room. The band will be meeting with her soon to discuss the concept. Basically we are looking at a 2 location shoot, one being a crowded party room, the other an outdoor venue with the band performing. If you would like to be in the video, please send a short essay describing your loyalty to the band, and a photo to shittingglitter@hotmail.com. Additionally, dennyPop has been diligently working on the Strapping video, which should be completed by late March. Stay tuned as clips will be made available here first! The band rehearsed last night and spoke about the upcoming gigs. Most likely, the next gig will be @ Rumors on Magnolia and Cahuenga in beautiful North Hollywood. One last (but very important) bit of info: The band has been approached by a potential manager. This mystery woman shall remain nameless for the time being but the band is very excited about the possibility. The band has previously worked with this person in a different capacity and are seriously considering the shift in status.
2/15/02 - Amy & Devin met with K8, the video producer/director. K8 will be chosing which video from Hot Rod that the band will film with her. In addition, K8 has been working with several others in the industry for a possible major deal. Meanwhile, dennypop is busy in post production of the Strapping video.
Tiko is working hard on putting together S.A.M. (Starving Artists and Musicians) which will be a collective community of gay singers, bands, and visual artists. The band is proud to be a part of the project which may have possible celebrity endorsements.
Meanwhile we are busy lining up gigs for the coming months.
WE ARE OFF TO VEGAS FOR THE PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND. You can expect lots of great photos upon our arrival. Also on the photo front, Tiger (another great gay visual artist and friend of the band) is in talks with us for a series of photo sessions.
One more note... Jendra has officially been named as the Shitting Glitter Go-Go dancer.
2/9/02 - After the successful CD Release party/variety show at JOX last week, the band took some time to collect themselves and are currently pursuing live gigs at any venues inclined to letting us play. In addition, further plans have been made for the pre-recording of the next four demo tracks.
2/2/02 - The newly designed website was launched today in preparation for the CD Release Party which will be held tonight at JOX, 10721 Burbank Blvd. in North Hollywood. The band is performing as part of Kendra's Saturday Night Varieties. A 7-song set will include Strapping, Short Haired Girls Club, Post No Bills, Mechanically Separated Chicken, Grady, Goddess Room, and Hero. After rehearsals, Kendra was heard saying "This crap is worse than my last show! If they think I'm letting them perform for longer than 30 seconds they've got another thing comin. My adoring fans are all coming to JOX to see me, not to have their ears assaulted with this gaudy racket."
